Villas // Upon arrival guests are transported by luxury boats or golf carts to their own personal sanctuary. Rosewood Mayakoba’s 128 ultra-luxurious villas overlook either the resort’s fresh-water lagoons and tranquil mangroves or the white-sand beaches with spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea. Strikingly modern in design, the suites feature a look that is “Island Resort Chic,” with clean open spaces and contemporary yet comfortable furnishings. Each is adorned with regional artworks and outfitted with wooden lattices and sliding floor-to-ceiling glass doors for natural airiness. In addition, accomodations feature a private plunge pool, over-sized bathtubs, private outdoor shower with garden, rooftop sundecks or spacious patios, and a boat dock. Golfers can perfect their swing on the PGA tour championship El Camaleon golf course designed by Greg Norman. This 18-hole, par 72 golf course includes stunning oceanfront stretches of sand, mangrove jungles and even incorporates a “cenote,” a massive underground cavern, into the heart of the opening fairway.

To take in the rich history of the Yucatan Penisula, set off on an expedition with a day trip to Tulum, Coba, or Chichen Itza. All three Mayan ruins are highly accessible and are very distinct from one another.

Along the coast and south of Tulum lies the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve which covers 1.3 million acres. This UNESCO World Heritage Site contains all the principal ecosystems found in the Caribbean and Yucantan and is home to five species of Mexican wild cats and 330 species of birds.

For the scuba diver and snorkeler, Cozumel is one of the world’s premier diving and snorkeling destinations known for its warm crystal clear waters and coral gardens. It’s accessible via hourly ferries from Playa del Carmen.

Or, take an excursion into Playa del Carmen. This charming seaside village with its bohemian laid-back ambience is only 15 minutes away. You can discover local flavor at the boutiques, flea markets, restaurants and nightclubs, all on or a block away from the Carribean sea.

If ping-pong and billiards is your game, guests can enjoy both at The Spot, the on-property game room located next to reception.

Additional activites like horseback riding, deep sea and sports fishing, outings to Xel-Ha or XCaret (an ecological and archelogical theme park,) tequila tastings and more can be arranged.

Dining & Entertainment // The resort offers a tempting and sophisticated range of dining options. Begin your day with an extensive breakfast buffet of local and international delicacies at Casa del Lago, overlooking the tranquil waters of the main pool and the emerald lagoon below. Following a light poolside menu during lunchtime, Casa del Lago transforms into an elegant chic ambience in the evening, where guests can delight their palates with signature exquisite Mediterranean cuisine focused on the freshest, authentic products. Indulge in dishes like braised lamb and pear yogurt empanadas, mushroom tortellini with truffle emulsion, and grilled fresh catch of the day with ratatouille ravioli.
